GenRe Secretariat’s Container Office adopts a contemporary design of a workspace that will be dedicated for youth activities. BKKBN and its partner, PT Danpac Pharma, seek to provide an area that fits its purpose. PT Danpac Pharma is committed to ensure the success of programs for youth in Indonesia.
BKKBN thanks PT Danpac Pharma, which through its community empowerment program has helped providing the GenRe Container as a space and facility for youth to carry out its activities.
‘TENTANG KITA/ABOUT US’ MODULE
BKKBN, John Hopkins Center for Communications Programs (JHCCP), and GenRe Indonesia are revitalizing the GenRe Program. This initiative follows the goal of BKKBN’s rebranding, namely to increase youth engagement to ensure that GenRe’s program design suits their audience. GenRe program is developed with the principle of MEANINGFUL YOUTH PARTICIPATION across all planning stages: planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
In GenRe, youth engagement is not merely a formality. Far from being seen as a fixture and passive actor, youth needs to be empowered to be actors with a sense of agency. GenRe welcomes youth’s participation as Peer Educators, Peer Counsellors, as regular member or committee member of the Center for Youth Information and Counselling, or to be a GenRe Forum officer at regency/municipality, province, and national levels.
All GenRe forums are established for youth to help one another, as educator or counsellor, and for them to express their ideas, thoughts, creativity, and rights, and needs as citizens.
Meanwhile, Tentang Kita (About Us) module contains essential information for youth on puberty, sexuality, reproduction, nutrition, risky behaviours, dangerous actions, preparedness to build a family, family function and development, parenting, and healthy family. The module’s contents as well as method and media of delivery are designed based on age segments of 10 to 14, 15 to 19, and 20 to 24 years old, accommodating their needs and developmental traits of each age group.
