BKKBN-Republic of Seychelles Cooperation

These programs are envisioned to be a model for other countries seeking to learn comprehensively about population, family planning, and family development.

On July 5, 2019, the Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), on behalf of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Special Envoy of Seychelles for ASEAN Countries signed a cooperation agreement in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The agreement covers several important areas of cooperation, namely capacity building through development of the Centre for Excellence on Family Welfare, exchange of experts, community leaders, professionals, government officials, and non-governmental stakeholders, and exchange of information.

Moreover, the agreement will see the development of a pilot project of Lingkungan Sehat, Keluarga Sejahtera (LSKS, Healthy Environment, Prosperous Family) and Kampung Keluarga Berencana (KB, Family Planning Village) programs in pursuit of becoming an international Center of Excellence (CoE) Family Welfare and Happiness. These programs are envisioned to be a model for other countries seeking to learn comprehensively about population, family planning, and family development.
