Training Course on Public Private Partnership on Family Planning Services Interventions, 16 – 20 April 2018, DKI Jakarta

National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), and UNFPA Indonesia collaborate in conducting International Training on Public Private Partnership on Family Planning Services Interventions, 4 delegations of experts from Planning and Development, Department of Health, Population Welfare Department, and Department of Education, Pakistan.

The objective of this training are sharing and exchange of good practices and effective strategies in the area of Family Planning program (e.g. policy development, service delivery, public private partnership and health systems strengthening) between two countries (Pakistan and Indonesia). The participants also expected to get first hand ideas on how to improve access to and use of modern FP services using various service delivery networks at various levels of the health system, including major bottlenecks and challenges that were encountered and addressed. While acquire knowledge as to what FP related policies have worked well to significantly increase access and use to modern contraception.

During the training the participants had a class discussion on family planning programmes done by the Government of Indonesia and several other NGOs including family planning Under the Universal Health Coverage and private sector companies namely Kimia Farma factory of contraceptive and medicine, and Indonesia Plan Parenthood Association. The class orientation aims to understand the family planning programmes and policies, the concept of public-private partnership in family planning. While on field visit, held in Jakarta, aims to internalize the concept and its implementation. The field observation done through direct contact with local resource persons, raising questions, and conduct observation of activities. The field observation in Jakarta, will consist of Restu Kasih Private Hospital, Bidan Delima Faridah Private Midwife, Family Planning Services and Counselling at the Public Health Centre, Integrated Service Post in Family Planning Village. At the end of the course, the participants developed and presented a plan of action.
