Jakarta – The National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), through its Principal Inspectorate, officially obtained the Certificate of Anti-Bribery Management Systems ISO 37001:2016 from Sucofindo International Certification Services (SICS). The certificate was handed over in person by Commercial Director I of PT. Sucofindo (Persero) Herliana Dewi to Chairperson of BKKBN Dr. (HC) dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG (K) at the Auditorium of BKKBN Head Office in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/01).
In her remarks, the Commercial Director I of PT Sucofindo said that the full and consistent implementation of ISO 37001:2016 as well as the adherence to all applicable requirements to anticipate the risk of bribery should help BKKBN, especially the Principal Inspectorate, in achieving its strategic goals.
“Congratulations, and we express our highest appreciation to BKKBN for successfully obtaining ISO 37001:2016 in the Principal Inspectorate of BKKBN”, Herlina said.
In the same event, the Head of National Standardization Agency (BSN) Drs. Kukuh Syaefuddin Achmad, M.Sc also shared that, “BSN, as a non-ministerial public agency tasked to develop and oversee standardization activities in Indonesia, extends its congratulations for this successful certification and the efforts taken so far to increase our national competitiveness through graft prevention.”
Meanwhile, Chairperson of BKKBN Dr. (HC) dr. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG (K) expressed his warm reception of the Anti-Bribery Management Systems Certificate ISO 37001:2016 from Sucofindo. The Principal Inspectorate is expected to lead anti-bribery and integrity practices by example and share its experiences with other work units.
“The ISO 37001:2016 should benefit us in terms of changing the mindset and behavior of BKKBN’s employees and its partners. Through dedication and our strong efforts, all work units in BKKBN should attain at least one SNI ISO certificate. This will also contribute to improving BKKBN’s Bureaucracy Reform Index,” said Hasto.
To obtain the certificate, the Principal Inspectorate had to undergo a series of process, including: awareness training, gap analysis, policy making and documentation, policy dissemination to external parties, system implementation, internal audit on the application of the Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS), a review by the steering board, a top management review by the Principal Inspectorate, anti-bribery compliance function review, selection of certification agency, certification audit, and finally the ISO 37001:2016 certificate handover.
“This is a part of mitigation measures, but it doesn’t work like the vaccine – a certification does make us automatically immune to graft. I wish to remind everyone to keep just one interest in mind: the success of our programs,” Hasto concluded. (HUMAS).
