BKKBN-JHCCP Cooperation

The National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) and Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (JHCCP) began their cooperation in 2014. During the first period of the cooperation from 2014 to 2019, BKKBN and JHCCP co-hosted the 4th International Conference in Family Planning (ICFP) in Indonesia, implemented the PMA2020 program, continued Advance Family Planning (AFP) in Indonesia, and implemented Right Time, Right Method, My Choice program.

The second cooperation period that started in 2019 and will last until 2021 covers three streams of strengthening Indonesia’s family planning program, capacity building, and promotion of COVID-19 prevention.

The strengthening stream covers demand creation, supply chain management, and training for health personnel and readiness of health facilities. Meanwhile, capacity building stream encompasses capacity strengthening for BKKBN’s program execution team in implementing lessons learned from MyChoice program using knowledge management and e-learning platforms, international knowledge dissemination (including through South-South and Triangular Cooperation) and organizational development, and management strengthening of BKKBN’s institution and its Family Program.
